In Alternian custom, all that matters is yourself. Archeradicators, however, are a culture within a culture, and they view such things differently. They do more than remember one another; they make sure those memories never fade of others who matter.
Darkleer knows that he takes it a bit further than most with the collection of items he has. Yet whenever things are too rough and he is so very tired, he takes his chest from his sylladex and remembers.
12. Insanity
He isn't mad. Yes, he is a highblood, and yes, he has gone for centuries without a moirail, and yes, these are rather trying times, but he isn't mad. Madness would mean a loss of control and he's practiced for so long to keep control. He can't be mad. He's only resting here against this spread open indigo corpse, hand on an exposed heart and head against his shoulder, because he so rarely gets to cuddle against someone so why not take advantage of the opportunity while this painted beast can't protest and would never know? Why not?
13. Misfortune
Mindfang always says that you make your own luck. Sometimes, Darkleer thinks all he knows is how to make the opposite.
14. Smile
It happens, once, when he's going through his inbox in the bathroom and he gets a message from Summoner. It makes him stop and smile, and when he catches his reflection in the mirro, he can only stare as he realizes: he never used to smile so much before coming here.
15. Silence
His breathing is quiet, and his footsteps nonexistent. He is his own shadow. Somehow, others forget that. They forget that he could be anywhere at any time and they forget that he is dangerous just because he hasn't lived up to the old title of 'Executor'. Foolish, really.

Jul. 17th, 2012 11:37 pm6. Break Away
The trick to the strange psionic ability he has is actually rather simple. Because it is simple, most trolls would of course not understand it. Everything has to be complicated in their society. So how could they possibly understand what it means to just stop existing?
7. Heaven
Back on Alternia, he wouldn't have anything. No children to care for, no matesprit to pity and love, no chance at redemption, no hope. He isn't a praying troll by any means, but a part of him considers it if it means staying.
8. Innocence
By the ideas their race is now adopting in this place, Darkleer knows that the violent murder of another is not encouraged. However, it is an ideal easier spoken of then accomplished for everytime he gazes upon that wild hair and that mocking painted smile, he feels a dark urge in him that would have nothing less than a flood of indigo blood.
Darkleer knows he stopped being a good man long ago, and when he looks at that face, he is nearly not inclined to change.
9. Drive
There is one thing that has always driven his spirit, something beyond animals and robotics and the bow.
He just wants to protect those he cares about.
10. Breathe Again
Sometimes he still wakes up and, half asleep, one foot in the void, he thinks there is a warm body laid across his. Then he wakes up all the way and realizes it is no longer there. Right as he is on the verge of panicking, Summoner stumbles back in all sleepy eyed and loosely clutching a glass of water. Darkleer stretches out his hand, and the other takes it, and it is only when the other is pressed against him once more does he breathe again.

Jul. 17th, 2012 11:00 pm1. Introduction
Your name is Darkleer. No longer are you Executor. No longer are you Expatriate. Your name is simply Darkleer. Nothing more. Nothing less. Somehow, you have become alright with that.
2. Love
Sometimes, when it is the middle of the night and he knows that Gamzee is in fact asleep for once, he slips into their room and just watches them lay there, watches them breathe. After a while, he adjusts the sheets over them both, runs his fingers through Equius' hair, and slips out quiet as a shadow.
Seeing them reminds him to be a better person. Perhaps not perfect. But better.
3. Light
Many sleepless nights take up his time these days as he runs away from his own self inflicted hurt by working and toiling. On one level, it's not really solving anything, and he knows he should talk to more than a few people. Still, when electric veins spark and those artificial eyes light up, he feels something in him be smoothed over.
4. Dark
The others probably don't understand it. In fact, Lysunder no doubt pities him for it. Yet there is a reason that Darkleer built his home in exile, back on Alternia, in the recesses of a mountain, deep in the darkness and forgotten things. While he admires those who bask in the light of glory and charisma and attention, it is in secrecy and darkness that he feels at home.
5. Seeking Solace
He thinks about going to them, sometimes, when he watches. He thinks about interfering and getting involved. But then she grins so beautifully like she hasn't since they were children, and he looks so at peace with everything, Darkleer feels selfish for wanting to. So he watches, not sure how to fix his mistakes and not sure if he wants to if they make one another so very happy.
